Informs is an
ActiveX DLL. It can be used with any COM-aware development tool or application
including Visual Basic, Delphi, C++, Word, Excel, Access.
When Informs
assembles a document it links to an Answer File. Existing Answers read from the
Answer File are used in the assembly process. New Answers obtained from the
assembly process are written back to the Answer File for next time.
When linking to
Informs from another application you open or create an Answer File; pass the
required Answers (variables); close the Answer File; open the required document
and link it the Answer File; and start the assembly process. You can also choose
to extract Answers from the Answer File and write them back to your application
after the assembly process has completed.
When using VB
or VBA in a Microsoft Office application set a reference to Informs as in the
following dialog.
