Designing a
document is simply the process of inserting Informs' fields into your document.
These fields
may ask questions; calculate answers; add/remove optional text; adjust your
document for gender or grammar; and so on.
Informs' fields
are plain text (blue) surrounded by field markers "«
»".
During assembly, Informs works it way through the document and interprets
each field and carries out the necessary action or, if a question, waits for the answer.
All
the fields inserted in the document (including calculations &
branching logic) are visible. This means it is easy to see what will occur during
assembly under different circumstances, and consequently simplifies the design
process.
