Assembling Documents

Previous | Topics | Next

Common Questions

I misspelt a name in a completed document. Can I correct it by editing the document?

Yes, but the name will remain misspelt in Informs.  To change the answer in the Answer File you must assemble the document again with the ‘Ask Again’ check box clicked so that you can edit the answer. Alternatively, just delete the answer from the Answer File so that it is automatically asked again.

Can I stop a document half way through and finish it tomorrow?

Yes, you can stop assembly at any time. Uncompleted documents can be saved. To finish the document open it again and select [Resume] from the Informs menu or press <CTRL>+<F12>. Informs will remember what Answer File you were assembling against and will prompt you with the question that you stopped on.

I forgot to save the document I was working on. Have I lost my answers?

No, Informs save answers to its Answer File regardless of whether the document is saved or not. Run the document again and the answers previously entered will be automatically inserted.

I have finished my document but noticed a mistake with one of my answers. How do I go back?

You can’t. Informs saves answers and releases the document as soon as you click Stop or when the document finishes assembling. Assemble the document again with ‘Ask All’ checked to allow you to check and edit the answers previously entered.

The Question dialog has disappeared and Word seems to have frozen. What do I do?

When you swap to another program the Question dialog may not reappear when you swap back to Word. Minimize the other program/s and the Question dialog will reappear.
